SCCM Administrator (Dedicated)

Job Summary Essential Functions:

The lead SCCM systems administrator will be responsible for managing the client SCCM environment globally.  The SCCM administrator is responsible for all server and workstation security patching, as well as all software packaging to be published to the client Software Center.  Other responsibilities include the overall health and maintenance of the SCCM environment, including managing any version upgrades. Occasionally you will need to have the flexibility to work after hours.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with company technical and quality standards (including best-practice and ITIL)
  • Understand business situations and problem statements and find resolutions using tools provided
  • Build and deploy remote images for desktop, laptops, tablets and servers
  • Creation and distribution of reports to all corporate departments and sites
  • Work both independently and as a team, able to solve complex technical problems in new and existing systems.
  • Responsible for software distribution and patch management
  • Participate as SCCM SME in organizational projects and operational tasks this may include participation in mulitiple projects in a fast pace and changing environment.
  • Proactively monitor production Microsoft infrastructure environment(s) to ensure continued availability of the systems and services.
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft System Center suite of products (SCCM, SCOM, VM)
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory design and Group Policy administration.
  • Manage an Enterprise wide Software Deployment strategy using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager
  • Assists Infrastructure team with testing and implementation of new software releases.
  • Provide 3rd level support to the Help Desk and Support teams via the resolution of escalated application, operating system, deployment, and hardware issues.
  • Provide on call support, and occasionally may need to have the flexibility to work flexible schedule.
  • Assists Infrastructure team with testing and implementation of new software releases.
  • Deploys software for service packs or emergency security patches
  • Strong Powershell capabilities.
  • Complete additional IT tasks as assigned and be willing to help with other IT projects

Technical Skills and Competencies:

  • Expert-level knowledge and recent working experience - with many of the broad suite of IT Solutions utilized under Microsoft SCCM 1706 R2 with Hotfix or higher (SCCM 1910 or SCCM 2002).
  • Microsoft SQL Server operation and management (MS Windows Server 2012 - 2019 and SQL Server 2012 - 2019.
  • Experience with DNS, DHCP, LDAP, Exchange Server, Active Directory and Group Policy TCP/IP, WINS, IPSEC and thin/thick/web applications architectures.
  • Experience using SCCM to package and patching applications
  • Intuitive understanding of ERPs – with great problem solving skills
  • Develop and execute on post deployment testing procedures
  • Intuitive understanding of ERPs – with great problem solving skills
  • Creation and distribution of reports to all corporate departments and sites
  • Understand and follow company change control process
  • Expert working knowledge and hands on experience with SCCM Current Branch.
  • Writing and maintaining procedural and design documentation and reporting.
  • Analyze, optimize, and integrate applications and services with SCCM.
  • Extensive hands-on experience automating processes through scripting using through PowerShell.

Education/Experience:

Associate degree in Computer Science or Information related. Strong technical background required. 3 to 7+ years of relevant experience.

MCSE Certification.
ITIL v3 Foundations Certification a plus
SharePoint knowledge a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 65 pounds.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of office equipment.
  • Ability to speak to and hear customers and/or other employees via phone or in person.
  • Body motor skills sufficient to enable incumbent to move from one office location to another.

Work Environment:
